Hey, thanks for commenting. I have in fact looked into Massive. A mediocre controller of it is possible to build, but a “smart” version would be difficult. They main problem is visual feedback: Massive has a lot of elements in the user interface that can’t be communicated over MIDI. Things like bank changes and modulation relationships would need to somehow be tracked in order to make a half-decent controller of it. Without that visual feedback, you’d just have a box of knobs that happens to look like Massive.

I’ve been commenting on your sites articles and I agree with you. a lot of my friends come to me for technical advice. I don’t sell or build anything, but am frustrated with how people perform EDM live. moldover and tim exile have pushed far past people having their whole set done in arrangement view, which I think is just awful and brings the art to a dirt low. some performers are caught and photographed with their gear unplugged but they’re still there jamming away….
ill stay in the comments until I have an idea only someone like you can solve and the cash at the same time.
pricing for art (which I think this type of work is) and good materials with a side of ‘only I have this’ is just fine with me.
